Granite Countertops and Marble Countertops
Whether starting fresh with new construction or remodeling an existing kitchen or bath, the homeowner is presented with many choices. These include cabinets, hardware, appliances, color palette, layout and of course, countertop selection. Choosing stone is a distinguished choice; with a durable and beautiful result. Stone countertops can withstand extreme temperatures and are unmatched in durability, beauty and style.
Granite is, by far, our most popular countertop material because it is exceptionally durable and stain resistant. We stock a variety of granite slabs, each with unique grains, veins and colors. While shopping, consider whether you want a bold granite countertop that holds the visual focus in the room or a stone with a more gentle, soothing visual appearance. Granite is an exceptionally durable material. As the stone is quarried, only 10% of harvested granite is used for countertops. The material itself is exceptionally hard and can only be cut by diamond blades. As such, granite countertops are a modern application of the timeless material.
Our customers who seek marble countertops typically do so because of the great beauty of marble and its long history of use in mansions and estates, and more recently in luxury homes. Marble requires more maintenance than granite and it can stain, but the classy and historically appropriate aesthetic cannot be replaced by any other material.
